This bagless robot vacuum wifi-connected robot has an all-black, utilitarian design. Its price is comparable to top-of-the-line smart robotic vacuums.

You can control the device using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on top and the SharkClean App, or by speaking commands via Alexa or Google Assistant. It is equipped with a variety of smart features like home mapping and virtual "no-go zones".

Matrix Clean

It's simple to connect the Matrix to your wireless network and start mapping your rooms using the SharkClean app that you can download on your smartphone. Once it's done mapping the app lets you set up an agenda for your robot to keep your home tidy or select rooms to let the Matrix start an automatic cleaning session. You can also set 'no go zones such as closets or beds that you don't want it to access.

The app also lets you use the "spot" cleaning on demand function where you can choose a dirty area on your floor map, and the robot will make its way over that area using multiple swipes of its cleaning pad. It does an excellent job picking up everything from loose dog hair tumbleweeds to tiny bits of cut paper scattered from a recent craft project.

The Matrix will return to its dock once it is finished cleaning, and empty itself in the bin that is included. This is an interesting feature since it reduces the amount of maintenance you'll need to perform.

One thing to be aware of about this particular robot is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is situated on top of the structure, which might prevent it from slipping under some low to the ground furniture, such as tables and sofas. If you don't mind it being slightly taller than some other robots, this is still an excellent choice. Be aware that this one does not come with a HEPA air filter, as do some other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

It creates a detailed mapping of your living space, whether at night or day and allows for full navigation without bumping furniture and other obstructions. You can choose to leave your robot to clean your home according to a schedule, or you can use the Matrix Clean on Demand app and create specific goals for each room.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a reliable mid-range robot vacuum that checks all the boxes. It's easy to use, produces precise home maps, and has a self-emptying bagless base. It's also cheaper to run than many other robot vacuums.

It is loaded with power. It utilizes its side brushes to move hair and carpet fibers into the brushroll. This stops the brushroll from becoming blocked and becoming messy, as seen in other robotic vacuums. This makes the machine more effective for removing pet hair.

Besides its high suction and self-emptying base, this robot also has Matrix Clean Navigation for a comprehensive cleaning, Precision Home Mapping for object avoidance, and a high-efficiency HEPA filter that traps 99 percent of odors, dust mites, and allergens and has two power modes for different flooring types, and a remote control that gives you full access to all its functions. It's also compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to allow you to start cleaning tasks without touching the robot.

It's a great choice for most homes, however its navigation abilities may be problematic for certain. The bump bot had issues with stairs. Other bump bots are able to avoid them, but this one couldn't. It utilized infrared and LiDAR sensors to map the home however, it was constantly mistaking my cat's house for stairs and demanded that I move it out of the way. It also had a shorter running time than advertised, which was only 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

Some robots, such as this one that self-empty bases. These bases can be used to vacuum or dump debris from the onboard dust bin to an external dirt compartment. This makes maintenance much easier. They are referred to as the Clean Base Dirt Disposal by iRobot, Auto Empty Station by Ecovacs or Bagless Self Emptying Base by Shark. They're a nice convenience but they can be a bit noisy and messy, and they typically require the use of specific disposal bags.

This Shark model is bundled with an HEPA-filtered bagless automated vacuums base that has a remarkablely large capacity. It can accommodate up to 60 days worth of waste and doesn't require emptying on a daily basis like some competing models. There's also a hefty dose of incredible Shark suction to take on the biggest mess. The docking station's vacuum system to empty the dust bin onboard is quite loud.

When the robot is connected to a wall outlet and charging it, a sound will be heard and a green light will pulse on its top to signal it's time to start cleaning. If the battery of the robot is depleted it will dock to its base until it is recharged. It's crucial that the dock or Self-Empty Base is placed in a place that isn't blocked by furniture or other objects, and is free of obstructions in front of it.

The model is a bit more expensive than other mid-range robotic mop models we've tried. However, it is better built and performs better on bare floors. It also has a longer battery life and lower maintenance requirements. It also offers a more extensive range of options for automation, including virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7 is still our top pick it is more durable and refined and charges more quickly, and is able to be stuck on rug tassels less often. It also has a higher maximum battery capacity.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes just a few inputs. You can choose the day and the time of sunset and sunrise, the duration of the ramp time (increasing or decreasing the brightness) and if you want to turn on the lights at night.

It doesn't offer the smart mapping feature or voice control like Alexa or Google Assistant, but it does feature a very useful free programming suite. The suite comprises a range of Windows-based tools that allow communication and operating parameter settings such as dmXLAN switch and node configuration and real-time testing and rapid replication to multiple installations.

Even the most novice users will have no problem getting around the interface. The top tabs correspond with the screens that will be displayed by the installer. There are tabs to play around with different colors and messages. It is a powerful tool that allows you to quickly create a quick installation. The application is only 1.3MB in size and is compatible with Windows 7 to Windows 95.
