Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

If you're looking for an unassuming robot vacuum that doesn't have the features that make other models, this one is a great option. It did a great job cleaning up pet hair, Cheerios and kitty litter on hardwood floors.

It's quick and precise in the mapping room, and it avoids obstacles well. It can also be controlled manually via the included remote.

1. iRobot Roomba s9+

The s9+ robot vacuum is one of the best we've tested for cleaning hard floors and carpets. It has some of the strongest suction of any robot cleaner on the market, and is excellent at removing pet hair. It can also be programmed to perform multiple passes or alter the amount of suction based on the size of the room, something we haven't yet seen on other models. The app lets you alter the way it operates and decide when it begins working so you can be in the room as it's working.

The smart mapping feature can create an accurate map of your home to aid the s9+ in navigation and create efficient routes. It's also self-emptying, meaning it doesn't require any intervention on your part while cleaning and can return to its base and recharge mid-clean (though it's possible to hear it return to its dock when it gets settled the sound, which sounds like jet engine takeoff). The s9+ was able to move around obstacles like tables and power cables without any issue. It never lost charge and did not get stuck. However, it lacks the hazard-avoiding capabilities that is available in newer models. It can also be caught in a knot on carpet tassels or other obstacles that are difficult to see.

The s9+ features an uniform front, which is not the case with the majority of circular robots. It also has a squared-off front which helps it reach corners better than models with curving fronts. It's also quieter than the previous iRobot model we tested and is more compact than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not expensive, but you'll get a lot for your money, especially considering how well it performs and you don't have to worry about emptying the trash bin afterwards. In addition, it's usually offered for sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ robotic vacuum is among the most intelligent vacuum cleaners available on the market. It is equipped with irobot pet series Genius Technology, which allows it to detect obstacles and maneuver around them. This means that you do not have to worry about the robot hitting furniture or walls. It slows down when it comes closer to an object in order to gently clean the edges. This is especially useful when you have pets who leave behind messes.

Another great aspect of the j7+ is that it can mop and vacuum using a specially designed mopsitter. If it detects that you're on a surface that needs to be cleaned it will switch to the standard cleaning mode and deploys an arm that is a tiny robot with an attached pad. It scrubbed the floor with a gentle touch leaving my floors feeling and looking like they had been thoroughly cleaned.

After cleaning the j7+ goes back to its dock and recharges. It then returns to the point where it left off and begins cleaning. It runs for about 85 minutes at my house, plus or minus a few minutes. It's not as impressive as the s9+, but still impressive for a device which can vacuum and mop.

As with other iRobot cleaners, the j7+ detects obstacles in its way and is able to avoid them. It also features what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from falling down the stairs. It's an excellent security feature for families with kids.

The j7+ has an onboard bin that is small, so it will need to go back to the dock and empty itself often if you live in a large home. However the j7+ is incredibly easy to store. The Clean Base, which comes with it, functions as charging dock, an external dust bin, and an internal one for the j7+ to put dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This sleek robot vacuum cleaner and sonic mops carpets and hard floors at the same time. It also has Matrix Clean Navigation, which makes use of a grid to offer a complete home cleaning coverage. The vacuum emptys itself after every run and you can view its battery life and status with a pair of lights above. Press the button to unlock the bin and empty it. It holds up to a week's worth garbage, and the process is simple enough to be done from anywhere in the home.

Despite its impressive performance on plain flooring, this model has certain issues on carpets with low pile and struggles to suck up large pieces of debris as its dirt compartment gets full. It is durable and has a long-lasting battery life. You can extend this by using the energy-efficient 'Eco mode'.

The Shark IQ is compatible both with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can control it with your voice. The app lets you choose the name of your robot (mine's Sharky Shark), program and remotely run its runs, check your cleaning history and get alerts for errors. You can also create a map of your home and create zones that are off limits manually.

The Shark iQ costs more than the irobot for pets Roomba j7+ but has superior mapping and app features and superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges faster and is stuck on rug tassels fewer frequently, which decreases its recurring costs. This model isn't able to stay away from furniture or pet bowls. You need to use physical boundaries strips to keep the model away from these objects.

4. irobot mopping robot Roomba 694"

With sleek, elegant design that will complement your home decor the Roomba 694 is a great robot vacuum for those looking for an easy-to-use, set it and forget it. It will learn your cleaning habits and create a customized schedule. It also integrates with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants so you can start a clean by just speaking. A full suite of sensors helps it maneuver the natural obtacles that surround your home while cleaning. A smart bumper reduces the impact of hitting furniture legs or walls, and four "cliff" sensors on the front and sides let it know when it's approaching a dropoff like the stairs or balcony, and can back away from the edge.

This model offers a great value in the sub-$300 robot vacuum category. It features a three stage cleaning system and two multi-surface brushes to get rid of dirt from carpets and hard floors and an edge-sweeping tool takes care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum has a number of convenience features including Dirt Detect that spends more time cleaning areas that are heavily soiled. It can be programmed to clean at specific intervals of time and has an app that allows remote control.

The irobot vacuum cleaner and mop Roomba is not as technologically advanced but it is not as advanced as the i7. It does not come with a mapping feature or the capability of creating virtual boundaries. It is, however, more durable and incurs fewer recurring costs than the eufy RoboVac G30, has a bigger dust bin, is charged more quickly, can maneuver around obstructions like electrical cords more easily, and performs better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet as compared to the irobot roomba models Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is a compact and appealing machine that provides a good value for the price. It can remove pet hair easily and has a huge dirt compartment and can run for a long time on a single charge. It's not easy to maintain and has issues with navigation. It does not have voice control or a companion app, however, it does have a simple to use remote. It doesn't inform you when the trash bin is full. You'll have to check it often.

The eufy is superior to the bObsweep Bob Pro in most ways however it's not as efficient as the iRobot Roomba 694 in a lot of other ways. The iRobot is better-built, uses fewer parts that require regular maintenance, has a HEPA filter, lasts longer on a single charge and offers better performance on carpeted floors as well as low- and high-pile carpet. It also has a smarter navigation system that can navigate around obstacles and has more advanced automated features, including boundary strips.

Although the eufy remains an acceptable option I would recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for most users. The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is easy to maintain, has a better build and has a bigger dustbin and performs better on all surfaces. It's also faster to recharge and offers a longer maximum battery life.

The eufy is also superior to the ILIFE A4s, however it's not as efficient as a premium robot like the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better and has a bigger dust bin, and incurs fewer recurring costs. It also has a smarter navigation algorithm that can navigate around obstacles and more advanced automation capabilities, including boundary strips. The iRobot can also take care of pet hair more efficiently, and it's easier to maintain than the Eufy.
