A double jogging stroller pram can simplify life for families, particularly in busy stores or on busy streets. Select a model that offers plenty of storage space to store nappies, snacks, and other essentials.

Tandem

The announcement that you're expecting a child is one of life's most exciting moments. After the excitement wears off and the reality of the situation kicks in, you'll be faced with a variety of decisions regarding how to prepare your family for. One of the most important things to consider is choosing the best lightweight double stroller pram or pushchair.

Tandem prams, also referred to as "in-line" double prams are a classic style with two bassinets or seats placed side-by-side. The front seat, which is typically cushioned, reclines flat and is suitable for infants. The second seat is a bit higher and designed to accommodate toddlers as young as 3 years old. Some models allow you to select whether your children stare at each other or face each other. Side by side

When it comes time to choose a double pushchair or pram there's plenty to consider. There are many configuration options available, whether you're buying for twins or close-in-age siblings. Tandem prams (also called side by sides prams) are a popular choice since they can be configured to accommodate infants in a bassinet on top while the older toddler or infant sits in the lower seat below.

Some models even have reversible seats, which means you can adapt the configuration to your family's requirements throughout the baby and toddler years. This allows you to see your children at all times, and gives them the chance to interact as they walk.

Tandem prams are often all-terrain buggies or jogging ones which makes them ideal for outdoor excursions and the park. They're also ideal for narrow aisles or checkouts in shops and supermarkets, as they are less bulky.

Convertible

It's a compact double buggy which can accommodate two children in a row, but it can also be used as a tandem with the addition of a second seat kit and rider board. It's responsive and agile and our test participants loved its sleek design. It's not as light as the other pushchairs on our list, but it offers a large shopping basket which is great for parents who carry bags of toys and food.

Lightweight

Some parents like to future-proof their double buggy if they have one child and are expecting another, so a convertible option is a good option. The iCandy Peach can be converted from a single pushchair to a double with the addition of a toddler's seat, or the brand's carrycot (which works well to sleep at night). The seats are very comfortable and our testers love that they can be reclined in multiple positions. They also appreciate the fact that the canopy has a window that peeks out and offers UPF 50+ protection. The rear seat can be raised so that the child who is older can stand on it to reach the shopping basket.

The only issue with the iCandy Peach is that it is quite heavy. However, Cher found that it was overcome by the ease to move around and how big the storage area is with two hanging parent and child cup holders, seat-back pockets and a large underseat basket. Cher also appreciated that seats can be flipped so that they can face each other, which is perfect for siblings who love to interact and talk when out and out and about.

The Delta Children LX Side-by-Side Stroller is a smaller model, but still impressive. It weighs only 18 pounds, is compact and features an auto-standing fold, making it simple to carry around or put in your trunk. Parents are impressed by the quality of materials and workmanship, as well as the price. The only negatives are that the seats don't recline as well as other models we have tested and the rear seat isn't as visible due to its location - it is raised higher than the first seat.

Another popular choice is the Joolz Geo 3, which is slim and sleek. It is also easy to steer, with an attractive design and lifetime guarantee.
