There are cylinders constructed to resist snapping. This is a more frequent method of attack on cylinders where the break line in the lock is targeted with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than gaining access through a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after using. Previously a lot of these types of handle didn't have a spring built into them, and without it they can droop or drop once the locking mechanism is removed. This simple component is the best way to fix this problem. It also stops your door from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles for upvc windows and you will require a custom hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplates of door handles of many kinds of uPVC doors. They are available as a single unit.
