Side-by-Side

They are the most commonly used type of double pushchair and can typically seat 2 children in a row. They are generally wider than single pushchairs, meaning they may be less nimble on the sidewalk and can be a bit difficult to navigate between the kerbs with a car attached. However the extra width means that they're generally easier to navigate through doorways and are more evenly distributed making them easier on your back.

Many models can be used as early as birth as twin prams travel system and will accommodate a carrycot or two car seats. Some can even be converted to one-mode with an additional basket (like the Cybex Venus).

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins you will need a tandem pushchair. This allows both children to sit together and interact with each one another. They are ideal pram for newborn activities like visiting the zoo, because the kids will be able to look at all the animals together. They're also ideal for parents who need to keep one eye on their toddler and the other on their child since they can look at both simultaneously.

Some tandem pushchairs are incredibly flexible, as they can be converted to single mode. They feature a sleek, compact frame that makes it easier to maneuver through doors and aisles of supermarkets Some models can be used as a jogging stroller or on rough terrain due to a four-wheel suspension as well as wide rear wheels.

A tandem pushchair could also be used to carry two carrycots or a car with a buggy seat. This allows you to build a travel system from the beginning and save money on additional purchases.
