Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma occurs when asbestos fibers irritate tissues that surround many of your organs. The cancerous cells grow.

The most prevalent type of mesothelioma affects the lining of the lungs (pleura). Less-common forms affect the lining of the abdomen and the lining around the testicles.
