The machine has a sleek and compact design that takes up minimal counter space. It's easy to use. Simply place the pod inside and then select your beverage and let the machine take care of the rest. Unlike Keurig machines, Vertuo Plus doesn't have an inbuilt milk frother, and you'll need to add cream or milk to your drinks.

One drawback to the Vertuo Plus is that it's only compatible with Nespresso's own branded pods. These capsules have an identifier that the machine reads at beginning of the brewing process which enables it to customize its blending process for each blend. This is a distinct advantage over other single-serve coffee makers however it limits the options for pods available and can mean that you'll pay more for a cup of coffee than you would with the same Keurig machine.

In our Coffee Makers test our Vertuo Plus machine brewed an espresso cup in about two minutes with a consistent temperature and great flavor. It also performed well in our other tests like the speed test for the first cup and repeat speed.

This is the first version of the new VertuoLine. It's an excellent option for those looking to upgrade their old Nespresso machines. It's small and has a short heating time, and can hold 10 pods that are used. This is a great improvement over earlier models.
