How to Replace an replacement audi a4 key audi key cost Uk; www.google.Com.Pk, G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician shows how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. The sensor is located on the edge of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a message to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated at the edges of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and the location of the camshaft so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync, possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper chain of timing. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

It can be a bit difficult to test as there are several pins on the connector, and they all have different functions. The most effective method to test it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully operational, it should read about 1000 ohms. If you're having issues with this part, check for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed, i noticed a huge drop in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole, and when I start the engine with no sparks, the three with gazoline jump right out. The 4th one stays shut. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset PID without success. The car is able to start if the G28 is unplugged and runs fine when it is plugged in however it has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not certain what to do, i believe that i've eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Please let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a junkyard or from a parts store. It is simple to test them - simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing upwards). They must be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY, and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of the fuel injector, for example. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If either of these goes badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner that could cause engine shut down.

Some of the symptoms of a failing G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter for the gearbox, gears shifting quicker than normal and/or misfiring when you are in gear. If you experience any of these issues it is most likely that your sensor is going bad and needs replacing. They are cheap and easy-to-find, especially when they're a Bosch sensor like ours. Alternately, GM's version this component is an excellent choice.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine speed sensor could be the reason behind a slew of issues in your vehicle. It's a vital component of the audi advance key's transmission because it communicates to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is spinning. If this sensor fails, it could affect the performance of the transmission, as well as the rest of the car's components.

Lexus.jpgThe G5 engine sensor is located at the outskirts of the transmission, over the flywheel ring. It sends a signal via a gray wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU uses this signal to regulate fuel and boost, and also timig. It also relays it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer, between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection to pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) and between T6a/1 and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should observe approximately 1000 ohms resistance between those two pins. This is a typical part that is found across the audi key fob replacement cost 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC through the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU, so the best ones could be available in wrecking yards.
