Hades 2 - Sign Up For a Playtest

Developer Supergiant Games' 2020 roguelike Hades will be getting a sequel. It's an ambitious move that increases the stakes while offering a deeper look into familial politics.

Melinoe is back to kill Chronos the titan of time. Along the route, she will encounter new gods including the personifications of the light Apollo and the goddess of witchcraft Hecate, along with the god of revenge Nemesis.

1. Hades 2 Technical test

If you're a fan Supergiant Games and their well-known 2020 Roguelike Hades, then it might be worthwhile to consider signing up to participate in the technical test for the sequel. The studio says its Early Access launch is on the next horizon, and playing the game will help them eliminate any bugs in the game's smaller player base than the full 1.0 release.

It's as easy as logging onto the game's Steam page, and mashing the "request access" button. There is a small number of spots available and not everyone will be selected. The test's technical nature lets players explore the first area in Hades 2 with early-game content characters, systems, and characters. The players who have completed the test will be "gently urged" to hold off and wait for the Early Access Version, which is expected to launch in the coming days.

The new game revolves around Melinoe's journey to the Underworld to save her family. The game will explore Greek mythology in greater depth than the first. She is accompanied by her Aunt Hecate. The sequel also adds more gods that are sexy to woo and a wider array of powers for her to wield.

Hades 2 builds on the roguelike gameplay of its predecessor and introduces a new character and an expanded roster of Greek gods to woo. Participants who take part in the test for technical purposes will be able to select various boons for each room as well as battle minibosses and enemies, and fight the boss of the area. They'll also have the option to choose permanent upgrades and face the task of "God Mode."

Hades 2 will feature more levels, foes and voiced characters as well as key areas than the finished version of the original. However, those who get selected for the technical test will not be able to carry over their progress into the Early Access build. Supergiant intends to "reset" the game at the beginning when it reaches Early Access. This means that there will be no save data to be transferred.

2. Hades 2 Early Access

While the original Hades was an iconic game of the modern age the sequel surpasses it in the water in almost every way. It features a thrilling combat experience with more depth than ever before it is an actual game that's just waiting on the final touches to create an instant masterpiece.

Hades 2 is not only visually stunning, it also introduces new characters and features to the game that will improve your experience and test you in ways you've never imagined. In addition to the brand new gods shades, items, and gods that are found in the Underworld there's a range of items you can collect and upgrade via Incantations. This system of permanent upgrades is found throughout each run. Melinoe can also craft new spells, upgrade her nocturnal arms and Nocturnal Armor, harvest items from the crossroads camp to use in future runs, and unlock weapons, trinkets boons, pathways, and other tools as she travels.

Another positive change is the addition of more open regions that offer different routes through each area and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region is a unique approach to the Underworld and some are more accessible than others but each offering unique challenges that stand out in the usual fare of other Roguelites.

Supergiant has also tweaked gameplay in the early-access build. This has reduced some of the work required to obtain certain upgrades and makes it simpler to move between areas. There's still much work to be done before the game is released for full release however, the studio has made it clear that it's keen to make the most of player feedback and to continue to refine Hades 2 to a perfect state.

Supergiant is known for listening to its customers and solving any issues that come up, and that's evident in the way it's handled the early access release of Hades 2. It's likely to be a while before the full version launches, but it already feels worthy of a place on your gaming shelves alongside its predecessor.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike like the rest when it came out in the year of 2018. The game received numerous awards and is considered one of the best games ever made. With its deep story rooted in Greek mythology, tales of family struggles and LGBTQ+ representation that feels organic and inclusive, it's no surprise that it resonated with a lot of people. So when Supergiant Games announced that it was working on a sequel in the works, it came as no surprise that fans were excited.

Seven years after its first release, Hades 2 has finally been released to early access. And while it doesn't change much mechanically, the love and dedication that Supergiant invested in Hades 2 is clear from the start.

According to the Steam page of Hades 2, "the game brings back all the elements that were so special in the original game: the isometric view, clearing rooms, choosing boons, and unleashing powerful attacks, the Hub World with the presence of a fully voiced character to interact with and learn from, and the ever-shifting Underworld."

In addition to these reintroduced features, the technical test introduces new ones too. You can unlock permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a new weapon. You can also tame the witchy companions, unravel mysteries at the Arcana Altar and gather reagents to increase your skills.

The most striking addition to the game is Omega attacks. These are new ways to boost your spells and weaponry. These attacks will boost your magick meter which allows you to unleash devastating attacks over a huge effects over a vast area. This is a fresh method of adding an additional dimension to the battle of combat.

Hades 2 beta is available both on Steam and Epic Games Store. The official release date for the full version of the game is still undetermined however, Supergiant has promised to keep fans updated as they are working towards the 1.0 release in 2024. 4. Hades 2 Release Date

Hades 2 is now available in early access for PC after an extremely successful test. Although Melinoe isn't a complete reimagining of Zagreus, Supergiant says that Melinoe will still possess the same style and character.
