Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers appreciate their key fob's handy remote features. By using a smartphone application, they can lock and unlock the car or start the engine and even locate it.

Place the key fob's face up on a clean surface. Find the button that will release it. Place a coin in between the fob cover and the fob, then carefully pull it up.

Locking the Doors

Volvo's remote key fobs can unlock the doors, tailgate, and flap for filling up the fuel in your car with the touch of one button. The remote key fobs can also switch on the ignition and activate the alarm. They can even operate the sunroof, when it's equipped. It's no longer necessary to look for your keys, or lose access to your vehicle.

If you're using a brand-new Volvo model from our dealership, then you may not be aware of its key fob hidden features. One of these is the manual lock/unlock button, which can be pressed in the event the battery of your key fob fails.

To press the manual lock/unlock button to unlock your key fob, place it with the volvo s40 replacement key cost logo facing up. Find the black button which is near the edge of the key fob's body, and gently press it to unlock a cover that hides the manual key blade. Start the Engine

Remove the cover on the back of the key fob by using your fingernail. A button is located under the cover at a diagonal, near the edge of the body. Slide it downwards and to the right. The cover will be released, and then slide off revealing the manual blade! If you still can't locate the button, look around the newly revealed manual key access to see whether there is a hidden slot or lever.

Close the Windows

One of the nefarious features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that you can open all windows in a matter of seconds with the fobs. This is useful when trying to squeeze into a tight parking spot, or even just when you need some fresh air in your cabin while driving.

To unlock your Volvo do this, press and hold down the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and the sunroof in case your car has one. Once you're done with your car you can shut everything by pressing the lock button a second time for four seconds.

You can also use the key fob to trigger your car's panic alarm. This will emit an intense, attention-grabbing roar that could frighten away thieves and allow you to return home at a safe distance after a night out. This feature comes in handy if you are living in a hazardous area or wish to safeguard your family members when they are away.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo has loaded its key fobs with a variety of useful features. These are perfect for when you're juggling grocery shopping or helping your kids pack their sports gear following practice.

If you have the Hands Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped), then you can open it by using the key fob. Press the button to open it, and press the same button to close it when you're done.

When you're ready to start your vehicle make use of the key fob to push the START button (and don't be concerned about your battery dying or your car not starting because it has a backup key mechanical slot too). This is among the many useful tricks for your new Volvo.

Turning Off the Alarm
