WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item upgrading by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item level upgrade from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

Crests

Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item level upgrade reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they only have one use. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
