It's a bit tricky to test since there are several pins on the connector and each has its own functions. The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing problems with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced a big cut in power like the engine is running out of gas or the injectors are not firing anymore. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. When i crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th one stays shut. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I got zero ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it runs fine with the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is 0.
I'm not sure what to do, but i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or in a local parts store.
