Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. In addition there are many items that can be reforged to increase their stats.

However, if you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered as a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. Reroll tokens

Leveling

There are a number of ways to level up an upgrade for an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the upgrade value of a given stat.
