The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that appears like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It even managed to take small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. This type of robot cleaner amazon typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. These bots also come with many additional features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. This is the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to getting rid of dust bunnies which is a problem which many robot vacuums often fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map or change the labeling of rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make this robot cleaning machine simple to maintain. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your best robot vacuum for vinyl plank floors clean and charged.

And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the only robovac I've used that has done a good job picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, either and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price price.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive and has many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile carpets.

Eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi.
