The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of things to do. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to navigate through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgIt is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well, but this is something that you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most best robot vacuum that mops vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rug.

The device comes with a high price tag but comes with a large selection of advanced features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three month.

The robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. These include an energy button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best rated robot vacuum feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was beginning and finishing its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or use the dock's best automatic vacuum and mop emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the automatic vacuum and mop robot.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognising objects.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
